MUNKHKHAIRKHAN UUL (MOUNTAIN)

Munkhkhairkhan Mountain is the second highest mountain in Mongolia, located in the  Khovd Province. You can walk up the peak if you approach from the North side. There is plenty of snow and ice on top, so you need crampons, an ice axe and rope but the climb is not technically difficult. A jeep trail runs to the base from Mankhan. The peak is known locally as Tavan Khumit.
